Gordon W. Amerine, 90, Independence, MO passed away Oct. 7, 2006.
Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions to St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Gordon was born Sept. 29, 1916 in Camden AR.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and served as a Quartermaster, landing equipment on Okinawa during WWII.
He worked as a route delivery man for Service Industrial Laundry retiring in 1976.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge #76 AF & AM in Independence and a Teamster.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where he served as the Chairman of Trustees and belonged to the Methodist Men's Club.
Gordon was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years Eve Amerine in 1999.
He is survived by daughter Lynn DeCamp and husband Ernest, Springfield, MO; son Graham Amerine and wife Sandra, Branson West, MO; son Mike Amerine and wife Donna, Blue Springs, MO; son Gary Amerine and wife Shirley, K.C., MO; daughter Sue Coleman and husband Raymond, Sedalia, MO; daughter Anita Woolf and husband Steve, Independence, MO; brother Frank E. Amerine, Houma, LA; grandchildren Greg DeCamp, Sara DeCamp, Shelli Leonard, Stacey Schroeder, Shawn Amerine, Kim Patel, Jason Amerine, Alicia Amerine, Susan Moore, Matthew Woolf, Lindsay Woolf; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
