The Passing of Marjorie L. Posey Pfaff

Marjorie L. Posey Pfaff, age 81, a resident of Independence, Mo., died suddenly on Monday, February 18, 2008, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Mo.

Marjorie was born the daughter of Clyde O. and Crystal V. (Holder) Alexander on October 10, 1926, in Chillicothe, Mo.

She was married to Francis Leon (Toby) Pfaff on December 19, 1977, in Easton, Mo. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1987.

Marjorie was a past President of Independence Young Matrons and the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital Auxiliary. She was a Real Estate Broker and owned Gaslight-Pfaff Realty in Chillicothe, Mo., for many years. She also worked as a real estate agent for Remax and most recently Reece and Nichols in Independence. She served as President of the Women's Council of Realtors and was active in the Real Estate Political Action Committee, serving as a Federal Political Coordinator for Rep. Emanuel Cleaver. She was also honored in the past as the Missouri Association of Realtors Salesperson of the Year 1997 and Kansas City Association of Realtors Salesperson of the Year 1996.

Marjorie enjoyed music and sang for many years with the Sweet Adelines.

Marjorie is survived by son Robert Posey and his wife Dana of Independence, Mo.; brothers Larry Alexander and his wife Doris of St. Joseph, Mo., Marvin Alexander and his wife Charlotte of Chillicothe, Mo.; grandson Mitchell Posey and his wife Jeanette of Port Orange, Fla., great grandson Kyle Posey of Port Orange, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Clyde Alexander, Jr.

She was a wonderful mother and a devoted grandmother and great grandmother.

A prayer service is scheduled for Thursday, February 21, 2008, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Independence, Mo. Visitation starts at 6 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, February 22, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Mo. Burial will be at the St. Columban's Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Mo.
