Helen Louise Sterling Bergin, 81, passed away Fri., Nov. 10, 2006.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wed., Nov. 15, 2006 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Indep., MO. Burial in Md. Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7–8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to a charity of choice.
Helen was born on May 29, 1925 in Rawlins, Wyoming to Henry and Lucille Sterling. The family of three moved from Wyoming to Bolivar, MO where she attended West Union School.
When they moved to Independence, MO they were then a family of four, and Helen attended Alton and Noland Elementary schools, Independence Junior High and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1943.
In 1946, she married "the boy next door", Robert C. Bergin.
She had worked in various retail positions virtually her entire working career.
Both parents and her husband preceded her in death. Survivors include; one son and his wife, Bob and Pam; her source of unending pride and joy and love, her grandson, Robby and his fiancée, Rachel; her one sister and her husband, Velma and Leo Helling, of Centralia, WA; one aunt, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
Also, mourning her passing are her good friends, the Antique Dolls and numerous close friends and loving former neighbors.
