Subject: William Chrisman Basketball Email Newsletter
Friends and Family,
As stated in a previous email I would like to announce an opportunity for
all of you to participate in Project Shine in our school district on July 18
and 19. Project Shine is this year's version of last summer's Extreme
School Makeover which was a huge success in giving life back to the schools
our district gained from the Kansas City School District. Those schools
were totally transformed by people from all over our community giving of
their time to give these schools ,new and fresh look inside and out.
Well, this year other schools in our district have a chance to get some
badly needed attention during Project Shine. William Chrisman is slated to
be one of those schools that will get some TLC. We need to have volunteers
come out on July 18 and/or July 19 and give of their time to help us out at
William Chrisman by painting, doing some cleaning, replacing some mulch or
some bushes, etc. We want to have a few hundred volunteers come out to
William Chrisman for Project Shine and give back to our school, our students
and our community. Let's continue to demonstrate the spirit we have by
coming out to participate in this event.
It is very easy to sign up to participate. Just go to the district website
at www.indep.k12.mo.us and find the Project Shine tab on the right hand side
of the page as you scroll down. You will need to go there and sign up to
volunteer. It is very easy to do.
I am making this appeal to all of you whether you are alumni, parents of
current or former Bears, friends of the program, etc. I would love to hear
back from you if you plan on helping out. I will also be asking all of our
current basketball players and their families to be involved in this project
and other coaches and athletes at school are going to be there as well.
What an opportunity for you to set an example to our young people on getting
involved, giving back and participating in the community.
