Worthwhile Ideas = Money

For The U.S. Patent Pending SPRING COMPACTOR MACHINE: The International PCT Patent Search Is Now Complete And the Results Favorable.

For Investors who would enjoy owning patent rights, having a favorable PCT review greatly increases the odds of successfully patenting the Spring Compactor Machine in the countries listed below. Owning these patent rights opens the door for the Investor to garner all the benefits a patent grants - sole right to import, sole right to export, and the ability to limit competition in the Investor's country of choice.

(Angel) investors who desire to own the future patent rights, in a non-US country(ies)(See list below) after entering a written agreement with the Inventor, may do so by paying for and applying for the national patent applications in their country of their choice.

The Inventor retains the patent rights to the per use royalty fee/mattress or box springs or other bulky furniture piece.

The Inventor also is charging a one-time earnest money non-refundable advanced per use royalty fee of $8,382 USD/country (This equals the cost to the Inventor of the PCT review.) For buyers who successfully patents the Spring Compactor Invention in their countr of choice, this fee will be deducted once from the future per use royalty fee payments from the buyer to the Inventor. Between now and July 1, 2011, payment of this fee will give the buyer 30 days exclusive right to make his/her patent application to the country of their choice using the already completed US application as a place holder.

On a first come - first served basis, all other future patent rights are for sale in the buyer's country of choice. (See list of countries below.)

What Does The Spring Compactor Do

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT AND WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

1. Being able to compact coil springs and recycle the steel keeps mattresses out of landfills allowing the landfills to save storage space and have longer lives.

2. Being able to recycle the steel creates an income stream which allows for new job creation.

3. To visually see how this process actually works on a single spring Click Here

Owning Patent Rights Cashflow Benefits Come In The Form Of Potential Income From Royalty Payments:

  1. Net Sales Royalty Fees
  2. Per Unit Royalty Fees
  3. Per Use Royalty Fees (Retained in part by the Inventor)
  4. Advance Fee Payments
  5. Lump Sum Payments, or
  6. Minimum annual royalty payments.
  7. Manufacturing Future Patent Rights Owners can directly profit from machine production and sales.
  8. Future Patent Rights Owners can also profit from Import/Export sales of the machine.

Buyer Due Dilligence Study

The Inventor has paid for the United States Patent Application and the Patent Convention Treaty Review. The Buyer for Future Patent Rights in a non-US country will need to complete at their own expense a Mattress Recycling Due Diligence Study in the country(ies) of their choice. This due diligence study needs to evaluate all aspects of the Mattress Recycling Operation profitability in the country of choice. There must be an adequate supply of mattresses to support the operation and the country itself cooperative in issuing all necessary permits and licenses to conduct Mattress Recycling in their country. Minimum requirements for such a facility include but are not limited to: warehouse, forklift, bailer, spring compactor, transportation for mattresses and mattress' components. Additionally, for Mattress Recycling to be profitable, like tire recycling, a minimum collection and processing fee will be needed to insure profitability. Another consideration is the country's legal system as patent rights may well need to be enforced through the country's court system. It is strongly suggested that the potential buyer of future patent rights begin their due diligence study using the services of a patent agent licensed in the country of choice.

Summary of the Invention

The present invention provides for a spring compactor machine to compact springs, comprising: a force applied at an angle substantially between 35 degrees and 155 degrees to an at rest spring's restoring force axis with an equal and opposite restraining force applied substantially between 215 and 325 degrees to the spring's restoring force axis. Wherein when both the applied force and the restraining force substantially exceed the plastic limit of the spring, the spring deforms and the restoring force of the spring no longer returns the spring to its original shape. In a preferred aspect of the present invention, the forces are applied to the spring inside at least one compaction chamber. In an aspect of the present invention, the compaction chamber may be moved and operated sequentially or moved and operated cyclically.

The Spring Compactor PCT Review Is Complete

A copy of the international application is available for viewing and downloading on WIPO's website at the following address: www.wipo.int/patentscope/search/en (in the appropriate field of the structured search, enter the PCT number, PCT/US2010/023657.)

For those interested in purchasing the national patent rights to Spring Compactor Invention in any of the below countries, you will need to begin by contacting a patent agent in the respective country and have the patent agent work with my attorney, Daniel Swayze. (His contact information is on the PCT forms on theWIPO site. NOTE: Buyer is responsible for any and all fees charged by Daniel Swayze for direct assistance to Buyer's Patent Agent prior to Inventor's receipt of the one time advanced per use fee payment.)

Spring Compactor Example

The present invention provides for a spring compactor machine to compact springs, comprising: a force applied at an angle substantially between 35 degrees and 155 degrees to an at rest spring's restoring force axis with an equal and opposite restraining force applied substantially between 215 and 325 degrees to the spring's restoring force axis. Wherein when both the applied force and the restraining force substantially exceed the plastic limit of the spring, the spring is deformed and the restoring force of the spring no longer returns the spring to its original shape. In a preferred aspect of the present invention, the forces are applied to the spring inside at least one compaction chamber. In a preferred aspect of the present invention, prior to compaction of the spring all non-metal material attached to the spring or a set of springs is removed. In a preferred aspect of the present invention, manufactured supports attached to and holding the springs together are modified via deformation and/or cutting prior to compaction. In a preferred aspect of the present invention, a post compaction folding and re-compaction chamber is provided to assure optimal final volumetric dimensions and/or unit weights of the compacted spring.

Summary Of What Is Being Offered

Now that the Patent Convention Treaty Review of the Patentability of the Spring Compactor Machine is complete, we know that the Spring Compactor Machine should be patentable in the above listed countries. The Inventor is seeking monied Investors who would like to purchase future patent rights in the above listed countries before the cutoff filing date of August 9, 2011.

The price to the buyer of this investment is the cost of making the application and prosecuting same in the country(ies) the buyer choses plus a one-time non-refundable advanced per use fee.

The Inventor retains the right to charge a per use royalty fee on the Spring Compactor machines when they are in production. All other future patent rights royalties belong to the Investor.

The one-time earnest money non-refundable advanced per use royalty fee is $8,382 USD/country. For buyers who successfully patent the Spring Compactor Invention in their country of choice, this fee will be deducted once from the future per use royalty fee payments from the Buyer to the Inventor. Between now and July 1, 2011, payment of this fee will give the buyer 30 days exclusive right to make his/her patent application to the country of their choice using the already completed US application as a place holder or the actual application for their country of choice.

Buyer is responsible for paying for and conducting their own due diligence study on the profitablity of mattress recycling and thus the potential Spring Compactor Machine market in the Buyer's country(ies) of choice. This should include all license, zoning, construction, permit, etc. fees as well as potential numbers of mattresses available for recycling.

Patent applications are roughly estimated to run between $4,000 to $10,000 in most countries with some countries running as high as $30,000 when translations are mandated for application. The current US Patent Pending application is in English. Investor's Patent Agents can provide much more specific and accurate estimates of patenting costs in the Buyer's country(ies) of choice.

Investors retain the right to sell their patents at any price to others as long as the Inventor's right to charge a per use royalty fee on the Spring Compactor machines when they are in production is continued for the life of the patent.

Lastly, for Investors to obtain patents in the above countries, the application and patent prosecution fees should total around the same as buying a new US automobile. Those saavy Investors may well opt to make a one time quick profit via re-selling the patent rights to a machine manufacturing company.
